I'm Stephanie!

hello,

With consumers relying heavily on online research before making most purchases, they’re looking for more than a website. Consumers are savvy and will be searching in multiple places and expect to find quality information, value, and content. Your website is an extremely important piece of this puzzle but it needs other forces at play in order to capture those leads.

How To Drive Traffic To Your Website

One of the biggest misconceptions about having a website is that people will simply find it on their own. In reality, your website needs consistent traffic to generate leads and new business.

This is where content marketing, SEO, and social media all begin working together.

SEO, or search engine optimization, helps your website become more visible when people search for topics related to your business. Blogging is one of the best ways to support SEO because every blog creates another searchable page on your website. The more quality content you create around topics your audience is already searching for, the more opportunities you create for your business to be found online.

Today, blogging is also helping businesses show up in AEO, or answer engine optimization. Consumers are no longer only searching on Google, they are asking questions inside AI tools, voice search, and search engines that now prioritize direct answers. Educational blog content helps position your business as a source of trustworthy information that can appear in those results.

For example, a Realtor might write blogs about relocating to a specific city, best neighborhoods for families, or tips for downsizing after becoming an empty nester. A wellness clinic may create blog posts that answer questions about hormone therapy, weight loss support, or skin treatments. A designer might create blogs about branding, websites, and marketing strategy. All of this content helps drive organic traffic back to the website over time.

Social media can absolutely help grow your audience, but your website should still be the destination.

Social platforms are rented space. Algorithms change constantly, visibility fluctuates, and you do not truly own your audience there. Your website, your email list, and your content are assets your business owns.

The goal of social media should not simply be getting likes or views. The goal should be moving people from social platforms onto your website where they can learn more, join your email list, download a free resource, inquire about your services, or begin building a deeper connection with your brand.

That is where lead generation starts becoming much more powerful and sustainable.

Lead Generation Is The Fuel For Long Term Business Growth

One of the biggest mistakes businesses make is focusing only on immediate sales instead of building a system that consistently brings new people into their world. Most potential clients are not ready to buy the first time they discover your business. They may still be researching options, comparing providers, waiting for the right timing, or simply trying to learn more before making a decision. Lead generation helps bridge that gap by creating a way to continue nurturing the relationship after that first interaction.

When someone joins your email list, downloads a free resource, or engages with your content, they are raising their hand and expressing interest in what you offer. That gives you the opportunity to continue building trust and familiarity over time. Instead of relying on someone remembering your Instagram post weeks later, you now have a direct way to stay connected through email marketing, valuable content, and consistent communication.

A strong lead generation system also creates more stability in your business over time. Rather than constantly feeling pressure to find new clients every single month, you begin building an audience of warm leads already familiar with your business and your expertise. This is often where businesses start noticing a shift from constantly chasing clients to attracting more aligned inquiries from people who already feel connected to their brand before they even reach out.

How To Get Leads From Your Website

Once a prospect lands on your website they are going to be looking for more information and expect a user friendly experience.

Drive them to your website with a promise of more value. This could be a newsletter sign up, a free guide they can download, or a helpful checklist. Anything they would find valuable and relatable to what you offer. A freebie. In return for this valuable, free information, require an email address for them to access it.

Your site should be easy to navigate and should guide them towards taking action to access that information and give you an email address. Encountering too many roadblocks can cause a prospect to leave too soon. Give them a clear path, a path of least resistance.

Once you have that email, you have your lead. Now what?

What To Do Once You Capture A Lead

The most important thing you can do once you have a lead is to stay in front of them consistently.

Keep in mind that they may not be ready to buy just yet, they may simply want to learn more or maybe they are waiting for the perfect opportunity. So you need to warm them up, stay in touch, and stay top of mind to convince them you are the answer to what they need. Since you now have their email, you can easily do this with email marketing.

Email marketing is a great way to stay top of mind and provide further value to your prospects. It is also a great way to position yourself as an authority in your space, become a resource for them, and make them feel confident in reaching out to you when they are ready.

Email marketing can be as easy as sending one weekly email update, or even bi-weekly update, with tips, your latest blogs, news, promotions, anything that your target audience would find valuable and will position you as the expert.

Pro tip: Don’t be too salesy with your email content, continue to keep the content valuable to your prospect but within those emails it’s certainly ok, and encouraged, to briefly mention your service or offer and how you can help and encourage them to learn more.

Lead Generation Can Take Time

Some leads will reach out immediately. Some will download your freebie and subscribe to your newsletter to learn more first. Remember, leads are people. They need time to make their decision and to get familiar with you and your offer. Many times, businesses become discouraged with their marketing efforts, assuming it’s not working, yet leads are watching and waiting for the right time for them!

You could capture a lead today, but they may not be ready for 3-6 months from now. If you stop staying in front of them, no doubt someone else will capture their attention and win that business.

I’ve had leads say they were watching me for a year yet weren’t ready to work with me. But by keeping my marketing consistent and staying in front of them, they knew they could reach out to me when the time was right for them (I’ve had other professionals tell me they share this same experience).

Stay consistent. Every market has plenty of competition and you can quickly be forgotten. Remember, if you are out of site, you are out of mind.
